By Jacob Norlund

St. Scholastica students, staff and visitors enjoyed a festive evening of Hispanic culture on Thursday, Oct. 18 at the annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration. Sponsored by the Kaleidoscope Multicultural Club (KMC), the event consisted of a cultural program in the Mitchell Auditorium followed by a Mexican buffet in the foyer.

Taking the stage next were

Kathy and Leo, who presented traditional Andean folk music on native instruments, drawing several audience members to the stage to participate.
Following their rousing performance was a Chicano storyteller, who entertained spectators with anecdotes from his youth as a Mexican-American in Montana. Los Soles returned to the stage to finish up the show with the songs “Cielito Lindo” and “La Bamba,” the latter done both in the style recognized by Americans, as well as with a unique Veracruzano flavor.
“It was great to see some
